Though she was a shy child, the diverse artistic and athletic environment cultivated by her parents helped her discover and harness her voice. From competitive sports to creative expression, Christine explored a wide range of artistic forms before ultimately finding her place in acting.

Christine has trained under Eric Nemoto for over 10 years and Scott Rogers. She has taken acting workshops in New York with various casting directors while being repped as a commercial actress with Ken Park Talent Management.

Early training in Dance Theatre

Christine’s passion for performance began with dance, where she received early training in Nihon-buyo (traditional Japanese dance) under the guidance of Tsuda-sensei. Her training also spanned modern dance and jazz at Rosalie Woodson Hawaii and with Simeon Den. This strong foundation in physicality and stage presence paved the way for her later work in movement-based performance.

As an adult, Christine’s deep connection to her Japanese heritage led her to explore Butoh, the meditative and avant-garde Japanese dance form, with renowned choreographer Lori Ohtani of Tangentz. For two years, she studied Butoh intensively, traveling the world to take workshops with Japanese Butoh masters. This practice inspired her to join Iona Dance Theater as a company dancer, where she performed for three seasons, blending Butoh with modern dance in powerful and evocative performances.

She garnered a Hawaii State Dance Council Award for Choreography with dance partner Dennis Miller, she has taken choreography workshops with Mark Morris, Joe Goode and various Japanese butoh masters.
