Journey
into Ink. 2000
The Release Into Ink Begins...(Part I)
"Naturallly,
works of art create themselves & dream of killing their creators...they exist before the artist discovers them... its always
Orpheus, always Oedipus..."
-Testament of Orpheus, Jean Cocteau.
This dream begins with a nightmare. A muse, lost of all memory, is imprisoned
in an underground sleep, a captive to another Dreamer's dream. In order
to escape her death, her own story must be uncovered and re-told through
another.
This project is derived from the concept of Myth and Muse. As photographer the goal was to re-construct a lost identity of self
as muse.
"With
a camera as my dream-catcher, I collect pieces of her story, open diary entries which seek the ink of memory and meaning. One
step ahead and always a step behind in my pursuit of what seemed fleeting,
i capture her through the subtle impressions, shadowed landscapes
and where they would lead."
