The Sandman Stories plays with the lures of innocent childhood games and stories as it intertwines innocence with adult themes of drugs and death.

As a little child, my mother would lure me into bedtime by playing "Sandman" for me. The notion of Sandman as a seduction to sleep was a childhood game- a rewarding vehicle of bedtime storytelling. As an adult, the notion of sleep and Sandman invite other interpretations. The 4 part Sandman Stories chronicles the symbolic beliefs held towards sleep, fear, salvation & death/suicide. Each story of sleep unfolds in a slightly different fashion- 1) as memory , 2) a death wish, 3) a prayer for forgetfulness & 4) a desire to reclaim innocence .
